Imperial College London: creating a guide to student success

An Imperial Success Guide branded sleep mask with “genius recharging” printed on the front.

Imperial College London has a global reputation for excellence in research, with applications in science, engineering and medicine. It was ranked 10th in the world by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings in 2013/14

How do you create study guidance and advice that is valuable to the best and brightest students as they enter higher education?

We worked with Imperial College London to create the “Imperial Success Guide”, a digital resource which gave students useful advice on topics such as exams, assessments, feedback and note-taking. The project won a Gold CASE Circle of Excellence Award.

With the help of a group of eager academic staff, we arranged creative planning workshops to set the project’s objectives, and then developed a content strategy that would achieve those aims. We developed the information architecture and content for the site, and set up a promotional plan which included offline marketing materials and other items designed to drive traffic.

We’ve since continued our partnership with Imperial, returning to work on the postgraduate version of the Success Guide.
